Twelve words, and what they cost
At setup the wallet generates a 12-word phrase on your device. It is encrypted there with your PIN. It never reaches a server in any form. That is the whole basis of self-custody, and it is also the reason losing the phrase is final: the two facts are the same fact.
Generated on the device
The phrase is created on your phone and encrypted with your PIN before anything is written down. It is never transmitted and never stored on our side, encrypted or otherwise, so there is no copy for us to hand over, leak or be compelled to produce.
Bound to this wallet
The phrase is generated for Private Wallet and tied to your Telegram account. A phrase from another wallet will not open this one, and this one will not open another. Importing an outside phrase is not supported, and that is deliberate rather than unfinished.
There is no reset
Lose the phrase and access is gone permanently. There is no reset link, no support recovery and no back door, because every one of those would mean somebody other than you could move your money. Write it down on paper, once, before you fund the wallet.
What the PIN does
The PIN encrypts the phrase on your device. It protects the phrase from someone holding your unlocked phone; it is not a second copy of the phrase and it cannot regenerate one.

Do you store my recovery phrase?
No. It is generated on your device and encrypted there with your PIN. Nothing leaves the phone. We could not restore your wallet even if you asked us to.
What happens if I lose it?
The wallet and its balance are gone for good. This is the cost of holding your own keys, and it is why the phrase is worth writing on paper rather than keeping in a screenshot.
Can I import a phrase from another wallet?
No. The phrase is generated for this wallet and bound to your Telegram account, so an outside phrase will not open it.
