Terms of Service
Private Wallet is a self-custodial wallet that runs inside Telegram. You hold your funds; we operate the software that helps you move them. These terms describe that split, because almost every question about who is responsible for what follows from it.
What the wallet is
Private Wallet is software. It creates and stores keys on your device, shows you balances, prepares transfers, and asks you to sign them. It is not a bank, a broker, an exchange or a payment institution, and it does not hold client money.
Access is currently by invitation. We may change who can join, and we may withdraw access from an account that breaks these terms.
Your keys and your responsibility
Your wallet is derived from a recovery phrase that is generated on your device and shown to you once. We never receive it, and we cannot reproduce it. Signing requires a share held on your device; ours alone can sign nothing.
This has one consequence worth stating plainly: if you lose the recovery phrase and the device, the funds are gone. Nobody, including us, can restore them, reverse a transfer, freeze an address or recover money sent to the wrong place.
You are responsible for the addresses you send to, the networks you choose, and for keeping your recovery phrase private. Anyone who obtains it controls the funds.
Transfers, quotes and third parties
A transfer between assets or networks is executed by a third-party routing provider. We pass your instruction to it and show you what it quotes; we do not set the price and we are not a party to the exchange.
A quoted price is valid for a short window. If the market moves beyond the tolerance set for the transfer, the provider may return the funds instead of completing it. A returned transfer is not a failure of your wallet, and the funds come back to it.
Blockchain transfers are final. Once a transaction is broadcast it cannot be recalled, and neither we nor the provider can undo it.
Fees
The wallet charges a percentage fee on external transfers, shown before you sign, together with the network cost of the transfer itself. Transfers between your own vaults are free.
We may change the fee. The figure shown on the confirmation screen at the moment you sign is the one that applies to that transfer.
Acceptable use
Do not use the wallet for anything unlawful where you are, including financing terrorism, laundering the proceeds of crime, sanctions evasion, fraud or extortion.
Do not attempt to attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service, to automate access outside the documented API, or to use another person’s account.
You are responsible for your own tax and reporting obligations. We do not report on your behalf and cannot advise on them.
No advice, no guarantees
Nothing in the wallet or on this site is investment, tax or legal advice. Crypto-assets can lose value quickly and entirely.
The software is provided as is. We do our best to keep it available and correct, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, that a quote will be filled, or that a third-party network will confirm your transaction in any particular time.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost funds resulting from a lost recovery phrase, transfers to an address you entered, market movements, or the acts of a third-party network or provider.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. The date above changes when we do, and continued use after that date means the new version applies.
